Materials/ process:
Porcelain and wheel thrown. Glazes are applied via spraying and hand brushed layering. The build up of layers aids in creating that jewel tone marbling effect. They are fired to Cone 6 in oxidation.
In creating the handle, the dyed reed strands are first soaked in water to allow for them to be soft and pliable. Majority of the aesthetic considerations, for example; how many strands, arch relationships, widths etc... are mostly made during the assemblage stage. Once completed they’re then left to dry.
Dimensions: 5” H x 6 1/2” W x 4 3/4” D
